Biblical Community 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Acts 2:41-47 looks so nice and neat. While I'm sure that some of us long to live in such a community, I'm not sure any of us can really imagine what it was like in terms of day to day living.

I'm frustrated by how I'm so consumed with just trying to make it to the end of the month, much less including others so deeply in my everyday life. Is that a terrible thing for a pastor to admit?

I must admit that this Acts 2 living is completely counter cultural to the life_style_ I've become so accustomed to.

I wonder if the signs, wonders, and growth experienced in that church was proportionate to their willingness to engage in each other's lives (regularly) with love and generosity. Do we even know the needs around us? Does our dependence on ourselves reveal our lack of dependence on God and each other?

Although, I really can't completely understand what this early church looked like, what I do know is that somehow life and relationships with God and others were pursued and shared in a significantly different way than I experience today. I'm praying for God to help me and us love Him and each other in more significant ways.
